Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barry Hamasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katten Jansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jansson swings for the body but Hamasaki moves out of range.
Hamasaki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jansson just misses with a punch to the body.
Jansson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hamasaki was well out of range. Poor timing from Jansson.
Jansson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hamasaki lands a head kick!
Hamasaki moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jansson misses with a shot to the body
and Hamasaki counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jansson drops his hands momentarily and Hamasaki takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Hamasaki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jansson shoots in and bounces Hamasaki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hamasaki wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hamasaki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jansson throws a strike but Hamasaki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hamasaki wanted to stand there but Jansson had control of the position.

Hamasaki tries to free his leg and advance position but Jansson is retaining full guard.

Hamasaki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hamasaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jansson circles away quickly and effectively.
Jansson throws a jab but it's blocked by Hamasaki.
Jansson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jansson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hamasaki digs a good body shot into Jansson's ribs.
Hamasaki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jansson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

letting Hamasaki counter with a right hand.
Hamasaki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jansson blocks a head kick by Hamasaki.

and Hamasaki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jansson tries for a takedown but Hamasaki circles away easily
and Hamasaki counters with a three punch combo that has Jansson backing up. Jansson nods at Hamasaki to acknowledge the strikes.
Jansson looks gassed!
Jansson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nice uppercut there from Hamasaki.
Jansson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Hamasaki counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hamasaki ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

and Hamasaki counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Jansson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hamasaki is looking to wear down Jansson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Hamasaki moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Barry Hamasaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jansson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jansson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jansson is rocked!
Hamasaki scores with the left hand. Jansson knows he should have avoided that one.
Jansson is still on wobbly legs! Can Hamasaki finish him?

Hamasaki cracks Jansson with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Jansson falls to his knees and Hamasaki doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barry Hamasaki!
