Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Trepanier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doeuf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trepanier comes to the cage accompanied by Voodo Child. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trepanier shoots for a double leg takedown but Doeuf sprawls well. He's pushed Trepanier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Doeuf changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trepanier tries to avoid it but Doeuf manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trepanier to the ground. Trepanier escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Doeuf is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Trepanier to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Trepanier shrugs it off.

and Trepanier connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Trepanier leaves Doeuf with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Trepanier's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
