Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Battling Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cocky Balboner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ace of Base - Beautiful Life. Balboner is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: You're The Best Around. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Battling Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cocky Balboner!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboner misses with a hook.
Bob slips under a jab.

Bob bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bob fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Balboner is looking for a sweep.
Balboner is pushing Bob's head away, looking to escape. Bob manages to hold on to the position though.

Balboner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bob. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Balboner is trying to buck Bob off.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balboner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bob lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bob cracks Balboner with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Bob creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Balboner sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Balboner takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Bob prevents Balboner from escaping the position.
Bob creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

The ground and pound from Bob seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Balboner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

You can see the frustration on Balboner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bob throws an elbow but Balboner slips to the side and avoids it well.
Bob tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bob wants to lay and pray for a moment but Balboner keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Balboner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bob shoots in for a takedown but Balboner shows good takedown defense.
Bob rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Balboner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Balboner is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bob sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Bob shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Balboner's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Battling Bob overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Bob closes the distance and clinches up with Balboner, looking for a takedown. Bob pushes Balboner against the cage but Balboner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bob lands a jab.
Bob moves out of range as Balboner strikes.
Balboner misses the shot to the body.
Balboner just misses with a punch to the body.
Balboner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bob slips a jab from Balboner.
Bob avoids a punch combination nicely.

Bob has managed to clinch.
Balboner can't break the clinch.
Balboner tries to break free but Bob pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bob changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Balboner fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bob steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Balboner.
Bob throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Balboner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bob moves away.
Bob wants to clinch up but Balboner keeps it at a distance.

A slow jab from Balboner misses its intended target.
Bob shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Balboner but Balboner pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Battling Bob. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bob shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Balboner tries to buck Bob off but he can't manage it.
Balboner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bob has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Balboner's face.

Bob won't let Balboner get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Cocky Balboner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Balboner is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Battling Bob showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bob, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
