The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Monsterson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Monsterson throws a hook but Johnson blocks it.
Monsterson looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.

Monsterson feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Monsterson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Monsterson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Monsterson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Monsterson has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Monsterson throws a strike aimed at the side of Johnson's head but Johnson avoids it well.
Monsterson tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Monsterson shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Monsterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Monsterson uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson.
