Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sturd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nix kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Holy Diver by Killswitch Engage. Sturd is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Young Jeezy - Death Before Dishonor. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nix uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sturd.

and Nix counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sturd tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nix was well out of range. Poor timing from Sturd.

Nix moves forwards but Sturd connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Sturd has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Sturd throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nix throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sturd cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sturd throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nix tries to bum rush Sturd with a series of wild strikes but Sturd uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sturd lands a really nice looking cross but Nix seems unphased.
