Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dean Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layzie Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assassin has chosen Thuggish Ruggish Bone as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assassin slips under a jab.
Castle will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Assassin looks to score with a jab to the body but Castle is just out of range.
No luck for Assassin with that takedown attempt.
The fighters circle momentarily. Assassin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fighters circling - Castle throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Castle lands a nice looking body kick.

Assassin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Castle wants to get back to his feet but Assassin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A punch combination from Castle misses.
Assassin closes the distance and clinches up with Castle, looking for a takedown. Assassin pushes Castle against the cage but Castle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Assassin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Castle.

Assassin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Castle is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Assassin.

Castle throws a hook to the side of Assassin's head but Assassin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Assassin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Castle as he jumps to the side.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Assassin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Castle won't be happy with that.

Castle seems a little lost for a moment, as Assassin dominates the positioning.

Assassin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Castle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Assassin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Assassin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Castle keeps working.

Assassin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Assassin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Layzie Assassin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Castle throws the left hand but Assassin avoids the punch easily.

Assassin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Layzie Assassin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
