Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gouge Velouria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velouria tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.

Carter forces Velouria back against the cage and clinches.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Velouria can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like Gouge Velouria has been cut.
Carl Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Velouria was covering up waiting for the punch and Carter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Carter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Velouria to the mat! Velouria manages to get full guard.
Carter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Carter is trying to trip Velouria. He has hold of a leg but Velouria is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Carter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Carter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Velouria for as long as he can get away with.
