The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Markov.
Nice takedown defense from Mendoza. No joy for Markov on that attempt.
Markov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Maximo Mendoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sorrin Markov.
Markov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Markov fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mendoza tries to clinch but Markov is having none of it.
Markov shoots in and drives through. Mendoza sprawls well.
Markov shoots in for a double leg but Mendoza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Horrible takedown by Markov or perhaps it was just good defense by Mendoza which made him look bad.

Mendoza wants to clinch.
Markov dives in and grabs Mendoza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mendoza pushes down on Markov's head and hops out.
Mendoza tries a head kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mendoza ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mendoza no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mendoza is looking to sinch up a triangle. Markov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Mendoza's body to avoid the submission. Mendoza has instead reached around Markov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Mendoza arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
