Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ford Prefect (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Dourado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prefect comes to the cage accompanied by Mos Def - Mathematics. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dourado takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Prefect closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Prefect lands in his opponent's guard.
Dourado has momentary wrist control but Prefect slips an elbow through the middle.
Prefect stops Dourado from standing up.
Prefect trying to control the position from guard on top but Dourado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Prefect has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Prefect wants to pass the guard but Dourado is keeping the position.
Prefect is looking to work some ground and pound but Dourado has wrist control.
Prefect is pushing down on Dourado's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dourado is fighting to maintain full guard but Prefect has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dourado really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Prefect. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Prefect is keen to just control but Dourado is a slippery customer.

Dourado throws a leg kick but Prefect sees it coming and moves out of range.

Prefect swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Prefect walks forward, straight into a front kick from Dourado.
Dourado throws a sloppy head kick and Prefect moves out of range easily.
Dourado tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dourado throws a head kick but Prefect moves out of range.

Prefect looks to throw the jab but Dourado is out of range.
Prefect scores with a jab to the head.
Prefect throws a right and a left that both miss.
No joy there for Prefect, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Prefect blocks a head kick by Dourado.
A solid leg kick lands there for Dourado.
A telegraphed right hand from Prefect misses the target.
Prefect shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dourado's guard.
Dourado wants to get back to his feet but Prefect is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dourado looks gassed!
Prefect is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Prefect is looking to work some ground and pound but Dourado has wrist control.
Dourado is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Prefect is controlling him.

Dourado scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Prefect throws a right hand that Dourado ducks under and follows up with a left that Dourado also avoids with ease.
Dourado is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Prefect throws a hook but Dourado blocks it.
Dourado walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Dourado moves out of range as Prefect strikes.
Dourado misses with a body kick.
Marcelo Dourado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dourado drops his hands momentarily and Prefect takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Dourado dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Prefect. That did some damage!
Dourado is looking to land body kicks.
Dourado on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Dourado gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Prefect to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dourado wants to stand up but Prefect is controlling him.
Prefect arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Dourado's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ford Prefect!
