Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Jolley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jex Midnight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Jolley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jex Midnight!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Midnight misses with a looping right.
Jex Midnight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Midnight ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jolley moves away.
Midnight tests Jolley's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Midnight misses the jab.

Midnight gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jolley wants to control from the top but Midnight keeps moving.
Midnight manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Midnight is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jolley can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Midnight throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Midnight connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Midnight scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jolley is trying to get back to half guard.
Midnight misses with the ground and pound.
Midnight creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jolley sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Midnight thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Midnight postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jex Midnight dominated that round.
That's time! Jolley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jolley avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Midnight takes a swing at Jolley's ribcage but misses.
Midnight misses with an uppercut.
Jolley moves out of range as Midnight strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Midnight. Jolley does a little dance to reset his feet.
Midnight jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jolley takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fighters circling - Midnight throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jolley shoots in for a takedown but Midnight shows good takedown defense.

Jolley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jolley takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Midnight misses the jab.
Midnight swings for the body but Jolley moves out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Midnight closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jolley circles away.

Jolley clinches up with Midnight and pushes him back against the cage.

Midnight throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jolley on the side of the head.

Midnight is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jolley defends it well.
Midnight is trying to control. Jolley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Midnight throws an overhand right that lands on Jolley's shoulder, as Jolley tries to avoid the shot.
