Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Angielo Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stepan Koshka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Angielo Jose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stepan Koshka!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koshka bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jose tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Koshka prevents Jose from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koshka is working for a guillotine from mount but Jose frees his head quite easily.
Koshka throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Koshka scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Jose keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jose wants to hold on but Koshka pushes him away.
Koshka prevents Jose from getting the reversal.
Koshka lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jose hang on?
Koshka should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Koshka lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jose knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Koshka on the ground.
Jose is trying to escape the mount.

Koshka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Koshka is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jose has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Jose tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Koshka is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jose can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jose wants to control but Koshka is having none of it.

Jose is squirming around, avoiding Koshka's attempts to control the action.
Jose can't escape the position.
Jose stops Koshka from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Koshka manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jose to take his back!

Koshka looks gassed!

Koshka has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Jose has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Koshka controlling well, preventing Jose from escaping the position.

Koshka patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Koshka doesn't have the hooks in and Jose manages to turn into his guard.
Jose has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jose wants to control from the top but Koshka keeps moving.
Jose advances to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stepan Koshka dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Koshka drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Koshka is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Koshka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jose gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jose really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Koshka is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jose cracks Koshka with a solid left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Koshka wants to stand but Jose is controlling the position.
Koshka keeping moving, preventing Jose from controlling successfully.
Jose is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jose throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Koshka works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Koshka is looking for a triangle but Jose pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jose shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Koshka counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jose won't be happy with that.
Koshka tries to stand but Jose is controlling his head.
Koshka tries to get to his feet but Jose is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Koshka in his guard.
Koshka is fighting to break Jose's control of his arms but Jose is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Jose throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jose looking for a sweep. Not yet Jose, not yet.

Koshka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Koshka works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jose is looking to improve his position.
Koshka is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jose is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jose trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Koshka manages to pass to mount!
Koshka cracks Jose with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Koshka sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Jose has left one of his arms exposed and Koshka doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Jose screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Stepan Koshka!
