Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza stuffs the takedown.
Souza looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
sambozle wants to clinch up but Souza keeps it at a distance.
sambozle lands a nice looking body kick.
sambozle shoots in but Souza avoids the takedown attempt easily.
sambozle shoots for a takedown but Souza saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Souza throws a right hand that sambozle ducks under and follows up with a left that sambozle also avoids with ease.

Souza is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
sambozle looks for a takedown but Souza sprawls well.
The fighters circling - Souza throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
sambozle darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
sambozle content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Souza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
sambozle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Souza!

Souza is squirming around, avoiding sambozle 's attempts to control the action.
Souza really doesn't want to stay on the ground with sambozle . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with sambozle in particular looking to stall.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
sambozle frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Remo Souza will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
