PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tokutaro Okada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MK Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that MK Boy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokutaro Okada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, MK Boy!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okada misses with a head kick.
Boy looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Okada fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Boy moves into range and clinches up with Okada.
Okada landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Okada pushes off an throws an elbow but Boy leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Okada breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Okada will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tokutaro Okada. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boy looks to land a combination but Okada avoids it well.
MK Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy tries to close the distance and clinch but Okada swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Boy. No joy for Okada on that attempt.

Okada jumps guard but Boy stands there with Okada around his waist. Okada gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Boy is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Okada has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Boy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Okada tries to land knees in the clinch but Boy avoids the damage to the body.

Okada has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Boy regains guard immediately.
Boy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Okada gets to his feet - Boy follows without any prompting.

Okada scores with a takedown into Boy's guard.

Okada is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Okada gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Okada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boy but Boy pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Boy misses with a body shot.
Okada blocks a head kick by Boy.
Okada gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Boy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A knee to the head by Boy.
Okada tries for a takedown. No joy.

Boy dodges an elbow strike from Okada.
Okada landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Okada unloads a knee to the mid-section. Boy lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Okada wants to break free but Boy has control.
Boy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Boy crunches a lovely knee into Okada's ribcage.
Still in the clinch, Boy scores with a nice short uppercut.

Okada has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Boy uses from the top position.
Boy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Boy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Okada is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Okada has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Boy has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Okada to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Boy is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Okada pulls down on the head and he's put Boy to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tokutaro Okada!
