Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Barat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Barry Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barat comes into the arena with You can't stand me now blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murphy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Murphy showed some decent athleticism there.
Murphy misses with a head shot. Barat uses the momentum to regain guard.
Murphy trying to control but Barat is working from the bottom.
Barat wants to stand and escape but Murphy is having none of it.
Murphy looking to pass the guard.
Barat knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murphy on the ground.

Barat looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Murphy passes into half guard.
Barat blocking the ground and pound attempt from Murphy.
Barat is staying active underneath Murphy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Murphy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Murphy lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Murphy tries for a takedown but Barat sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Murphy tries to clinch up but Barat circles away and keeps his distance.
Murphy moves away from the strike by Barat.
Murphy throws a right and a left that Barat avoids nicely.
Murphy avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Murphy slips under a jab from Barat.
Nice jab there from Barat.

It looks like Jimmy Barry Murphy has been cut.
Murphy fails with the takedown.
Murphy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Barat walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Murphy checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Barat swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Murphy counters with a three punch combo that has Barat backing up. Barat nods at Murphy to acknowledge the strikes.
Barat throws a predictable looking body shot

and Murphy counters with a takedown into side control.

Barat is rocked!

Murphy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Barat some visible discomfort.
Oh Barat is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Murphy lands a few punches from side control.

Murphy is working to tighten is grip on Barat's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Barat has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Murphy is really squeezing tight and eventually Barat passes out! Murphy breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
