The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powers scores with a takedown into Barton's guard.

Powers decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Barton tries for a takedown but Powers circles away easily

so Powers counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Barton looks gassed!
Powers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Barton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Powers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Powers distracts Barton with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Powers forces his way into half guard.
Powers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barton keeps working.

Powers stands up from half guard.
Powers throws a series of punches but Barton moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Powers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barton.

Powers scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Powers has hold of Barton's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Barton seems comfortable defending it but Powers has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Barton is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Barton is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Powers couldn't care less - he's delighted!
