PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mateus Allen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Penn is fending him off so far but Allen persists. Nope, Penn circles away and we're back to standing.

Allen really wants to buck Penn off and get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Allen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Allen is desperately trying to improve his position but Penn has a good base and remains in mount.

Allen is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Penn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Allen is just riding it out for now. Penn eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Penn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Allen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penn but Penn pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Penn lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Allen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Penn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Allen somewhat.

I really don't envy Penn right now.

Allen gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Allen apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Mateus Allen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Allen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
