PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bo Sephus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Booze Hound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bo Sephus had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bo Sephus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Booze Hound!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sephus feints and as Hound raises his hands in defense, Sephus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hound not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sephus trying to control but Hound is working from the bottom.
Hound controls Sephus momentarily but Sephus frees himself.
Sephus is pushing down on Hound's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hound is fighting to maintain full guard but Sephus has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sephus trying to pass the guard but Hound defending well.
Hound tries to kick Sephus off but Sephus keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hound trying to hold on to Sephus's head to control him but Sephus postures up.
Hound really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sephus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A head kick misses from Sephus.
A head kick misses from Hound.
Hound tries to clinch up but Sephus circles away and keeps his distance.
Sephus throws a front kick that sends Hound stumbling back into the cage.
Hound lands a head kick. Sephus smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Bo Sephus has been cut.
Hound is looking to clinch.
Hound wants to clinch up but Sephus keeps it at a distance.

Hound has closed the distance and engaged Sephus in a clinch.
Sephus tries for a takedown but Hound manages to get underhooks.
Sephus is trying to force a seperation but Hound has the dominant position.

Hound has hold of one of Sephus's legs. Sephus is fighting the takedown attempt but Hound gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Hound must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hound wanted to stand there but Sephus had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sephus wants to sweep here but Hound controlling him for the moment.

Hound postures up.
Sephus keeping moving, preventing Hound from controlling successfully.

Sephus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hound is aware though and is defending well.
Sephus has a closed guard, preventing Hound from standing up.
Hound wants to control from the top but Sephus keeps moving.
Sephus throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sephus misses with an attempted mid kick.

Hound scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sephus is breathing heavily.
Hound creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Hound wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sephus keeps working.
Sephus struggling a bit here.
Sephus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hound wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Check out the look on Hound's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Hound tries to move to mount but Sephus blocks the move with his legs.

Hound tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hound has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sephus is letting Hound control him for a moment.
Hound wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sephus keeps working.
Hound is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sephus's shoulder. That is not cool.
Sephus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hound wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Booze Hound dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bo Sephus's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sephus pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hound bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hound stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Left hook, right uppercut from Hound.
Sephus shoots and misses

and Hound counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sephus's guard now.


Sephus is rocked!
Hound showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Oh Sephus is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hound is pushing down on Sephus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sephus is fighting to maintain full guard but Hound has managed to sneak the leg through.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sephus has hold of Hound's hands but Hound slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hound passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sephus!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hound has hold of Sephus's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sephus manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Sephus seems to have got his legs back now.
Hound trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hound wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Hound tries to control but Sephus wriggling away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hound is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sephus to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sephus shrugs it off.
Sephus tries to hold on but Hound pushes him away.
Hound won't let Sephus get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Booze Hound has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sephus tries to lock up and control but Hound gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hound is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sephus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hound scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Sephus?

Hound lands with some strikes.
Sephus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hound trying to control but Sephus is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hound unloading with bombs!
Sephus throwing hammer fists to the chest of Hound. What's that going to do exactly?
Hound lands a big elbow.
Sephus is working to get back to half guard.
Hound trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Booze Hound showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Bo Sephus's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Hound shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Sephus is on queer street and Hound is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Booze Hound!
