The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

GNP shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Angeles napping and manages to drive through into side control!

GNP is working for a kimura but Angeles is defending it quite comfortably.

GNP is nestled in close to Angeles, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

GNP uses his free foot to push down on Angeles's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Angeles.

GNP swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Angeles is now in GNP's guard. A big mistake from GNP there, giving up the dominant position!

Angeles drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Angeles jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

GNP escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Angeles gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Angeles got a little sloppy there for a moment and GNP has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Angeles has managed to get both his arms back between GNP's legs - danger averted.

GNP pushes a forearm under Angeles's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Angeles is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
