PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Allen Melgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rumple Foreskin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foreskin shoots in for a takedown but Melgar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Foreskin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Melgar avoids it really well and circles away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Melgar, right into the meat.

Foreskin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Melgar napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Melgar is looking for a sweep.
Melgar is trying to buck Foreskin off.
Melgar looking for a sweep but Foreskin has passed into full mount! Oh no!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Melgar is looking to improve his position but Foreskin isn't that keen on the idea.

Foreskin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Melgar can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Melgar is looking to improve his position but Foreskin isn't that keen on the idea.
Foreskin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Melgar is looking to escape.
Melgar is in all sorts of trouble here.
Foreskin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Melgar's face.

Melgar tries to hold on but Foreskin postures up.
Melgar takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Foreskin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Foreskin wants to finish this one by submission but Melgar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Foreskin.

Melgar is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Foreskin has control of Melgar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Melgar regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Foreskin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Melgar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Foreskin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Melgar has managed to escape the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Melgar wants to control but Foreskin is having none of it.
Melgar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Foreskin on the ground.

Foreskin is looking to take a break and control but Melgar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Foreskin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Melgar is not content to let Foreskin control the position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Foreskin counters with a shoot takedown. Melgar fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rumple Foreskin.

Melgar passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Foreskin!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Melgar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Foreskin wants to control from the top but Melgar keeps moving.
Foreskin chips away with some ground and pound.
Foreskin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Melgar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Melgar scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Melgar motions for Foreskin to come forward. Melgar throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Melgar throws a series of punches but Foreskin moves out of range.

Foreskin gets the takedown into side control.
Foreskin landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Foreskin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Melgar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Foreskin is working to tighten is grip on Melgar's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Melgar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Foreskin is really squeezing tight and eventually Melgar passes out! Foreskin breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
