And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derek Scarlatti!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sox shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Scarlatti's guard.
Sox trying to control the position from guard on top but Scarlatti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sox stops Scarlatti from standing up.
Sox content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sox throwing strikes from guard but Scarlatti blocks nicely.
Sox wants to pass the guard but Scarlatti is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sox accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sox connects with a couple of short punches.
Scarlatti avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sox wants to pass the guard but Scarlatti is keeping the position.

Scarlatti manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Scarlatti looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sox closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Derek Scarlatti has been cut.
Sox uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Scarlatti has time to react.
Sox steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Scarlatti is out on his feet! Sox sets himself and nearly takes Scarlatti's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
