Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Motta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Bristol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Motta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sid Bristol!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motta moves out of range as Bristol strikes.
The fighters circling - Motta throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Motta shoots in but Bristol avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bristol scores with a three punch combo!

Motta shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bristol napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bristol tries to improve position but can't.
Bristol gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Bristol looking for submissions off his back.
Motta looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Motta moves into full mount! Bristol won't be happy about that!
Bristol tries to reverse the position but Motta maintains control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Motta has hold of Bristol's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bristol manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bristol is looking to get to half guard.

Bristol defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Motta.
Motta wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bristol is looking to improve his position but Motta isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bristol is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Motta misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Bristol working to try and regain half guard.

Motta wants to finish this one by submission but Bristol is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Motta.
Bristol is squirming around, avoiding Motta's attempts to control the action.
Bristol is looking to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Motta lands with some strikes.

Motta looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Bristol defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Motta.
Motta moves to the back position.
Bristol manages to reverse the position and now he's in Motta's guard. Nice work there by Bristol.

Motta working for a triangle but Bristol defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bristol postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Motta is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bristol, into his guard.

Bristol throws his legs up looking for a submission but Motta uses it to pass to side control.

Motta wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bristol, who protects the arm well.
Bristol is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Motta dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Motta shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bristol misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bristol misses with a body kick.
Bristol swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bristol misses with a kick to the body.
Motta looks to land a right hand but Bristol moved out of range.
Motta slips under a jab.
A big left from Motta misses.
A big left from Motta misses.
Bristol digs a good hook to Motta's body.
Motta misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sid Bristol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bristol looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Motta is fending him off so far but Bristol persists. Nope, Motta circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bristol cracks Motta with a good jab.

Motta decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bristol looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Bristol looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Motta wants to control but Bristol is keeping him busy.
Motta is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Bristol working to try and regain half guard.
Bristol is trying to reverse the position but instead Motta has taken his back - oops!

Motta is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
