The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jane scores with a hook to the body. Rutten takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Jane throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jane throws a body punch but Rutten moves out of range.
Jane misses with a straight right.
Jane throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rutten avoids the body shot from Jane.

It looks like Randy Rutten has been cut.
Jane is looking to wear down Rutten with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jane scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rutten doesn't seem bothered though.

John Jane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rutten stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jane.
Rutten takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Nice combo by Jane! Oh, that's hurt him - Rutten falls to the canvas and Jane follows him into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jane scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Rutten is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Jane can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
