Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aziz Karaoglu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karaoglu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cruz sprawls well. Cruz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Karaoglu gets slowly back to his feet.
Cruz looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Cruz gets caught flat footed, as Karaoglu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Karaoglu is working Cruz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Karaoglu prevents Cruz from getting back to his feet.

Karaoglu drops back looking for a leg! Cruz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cruz manages to kick Karaoglu off! Karaoglu jumps back into Cruz's guard.
Cruz looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Karaoglu puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Cruz tries to get to full guard but Karaoglu has control of the leg.
Karaoglu is looking for a kimura but Cruz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Karaoglu to get the leverage.

Karaoglu wants to pass the guard but Cruz is keeping the position.
Karaoglu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cruz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cruz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cruz!

Cruz is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Karaoglu will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cruz wants to stand and escape but instead Karaoglu has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Karaoglu wants to work for an arm triangle but Cruz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cruz is looking to get back to full guard here but Karaoglu has managed to pass to side control instead.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Karaoglu counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cruz's guard now.
Cruz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karaoglu on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Karaoglu drops back looking for a leg! Cruz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cruz manages to kick Karaoglu off! Karaoglu jumps back into Cruz's guard.
Cruz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Karaoglu uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Karaoglu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cruz, who protects the arm well.
Cruz is trying to control Karaoglu's posture but Karaoglu avoids it.
Cruz is trying to get back to half guard.
Aziz Karaoglu has got the better of the ground game so far.

Cruz is working hard here to advance position.
Karaoglu is trying to get an arm triangle but Cruz is defending well.
Karaoglu is looking to take a break and control but Cruz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Karaoglu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Karaoglu swings around for an armbar but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Karaoglu's guard.
Cruz wants to control from the top but Karaoglu keeps moving.

Aziz Karaoglu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Karaoglu wants to finish this one by submission but Cruz is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Karaoglu.
Cruz can't escape the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cruz reaches up to try and control the position but Karaoglu seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Cruz rolls and tries to escape and now Karaoglu has his back!

I really don't envy Cruz right now.

Cruz breaks Karaoglu's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Cruz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cruz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Karaoglu's guard.
Karaoglu is trying to control but Cruz manages to pass to mount!

Karaoglu avoids a series of strikes thrown by Cruz.
Cruz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cruz is just content to waste time from the top position. Karaoglu takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Aziz Karaoglu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cruz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Karaoglu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cruz has Karaoglu in his guard.

Aziz Karaoglu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Karaoglu winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
