Alves is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Europe - The Final Countdown . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves closes this distance looking for a takedown but Eslay circles away.
Alves has a takedown stuffed.
Horrible takedown by Alves or perhaps it was just good defense by Eslay which made him look bad.
Hamilton Eslay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonas Alves.
Alves tries to score a power double leg takedown but Eslay sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alves somewhat.
Donk. Eslay catches Alves right on the button with a cross.
Alves takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Alves shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Eslay throws a sloppy head kick and Alves moves out of range easily.
Alves shoots in but no luck this time.
Eslay moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Alves will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Eslay swats away the attempt to clinch by Alves.

and Alves takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Alves slaps away a takedown attempt from Eslay, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Eslay tries to close the distance and clinch but Alves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Eslay lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Eslay lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Eslay.

It looks like Jonas Alves has been cut.
Eslay throws a series of strikes that have Alves backpedaling.
Jonas Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eslay stuns Alves with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Eslay throws a series of strikes that have Alves backpedaling.
Eslay connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Alves tumbling to the canvas! Eslay pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Alves was done - good stoppage!
