The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vehse Junior tries to clinch but Kang is having none of it.
Vehse Junior throws out a leg kick but Kang moves out of range and Vehse Junior only half commits.
Kang lands with a thumping leg kick.

Kang is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vehse Junior's half guard.
Kang seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vehse Junior does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kang feints and as Vehse Junior raises his hands in defense, Kang changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kang wants to control from the top but Vehse Junior keeps moving.
Vehse Junior wants to sweep here but Kang controlling him for the moment.
Kang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vehse Junior. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
