Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronnie Carlton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Brown!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlton tries to clinch but Brown moves out of range.
Carlton tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Brown avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carlton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Carlton doesn't manage to clinch there - Brown circles away.

Carlton throws a nice looking combination but Brown bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BOOM! Brown connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Brown moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Carlton has worked his arm free - good work by Carlton!

Brown is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Carlton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brown looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carlton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Brown lands a nice short elbow.

Brown is nestled in close to Carlton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Brown seems to be looking for submissions.
Brown lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Brown is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carlton is just riding it out for now. Brown eventually gives up the hold.

Brown gets to his feet - Carlton follows without any prompting.

Carlton wants to clinch up but Brown keeps it at a distance.
Nice sprawl there from Carlton as Brown shoots in.
Carlton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Carlton.
Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carlton but Carlton pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Brown cracks Carlton with a big right hand but Carlton just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Carlton is fighting off a takedown attempt but Brown is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Carlton to the mat. Carlton regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Carlton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brown would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Carlton is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.

Carlton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brown!

Carlton prevents Brown from standing back up.

Brown is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carlton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carlton's back!
Carlton rolls, trying to escape but Brown keeps control of the position.

Brown is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Carlton is defending well though. Brown let's go of the attempt for now.
The referee is taking a good look at Carlton as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Brown!

Brown lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Brown is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Brown gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Brown gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Brown apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Oh Carlton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Carlton is in big trouble! Brown is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Carlton. Poor guy.
