Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between joe hoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evangelios Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

hoe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alkofer did well to prevent hoe getting side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

hoe is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Alkofer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time hoe.

hoe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
hoe wants to take a breather but Alkofer is having none of it.
Alkofer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with hoe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

hoe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alkofer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now hoe has Alkofer in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

hoe is looking for a triangle but Alkofer pushes his legs off easily.

hoe looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Alkofer has picked hoe up and slammed him! hoe can't keep hold of the triangle and Alkofer manages to pass to side control!

Alkofer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alkofer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alkofer wants it to stay on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
hoe shoots in looking for a takedown. Alkofer tries to sprawl out of it but hoe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alkofer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alkofer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Alkofer wants to free his trapped foot but hoe is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alkofer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
hoe lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alkofer!
Alkofer is trying desperately to improve position.

hoe is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Alkofer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Alkofer tries to lock up and control but hoe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
hoe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Alkofer is looking to improve his position but hoe isn't that keen on the idea.

hoe is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Alkofer has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Alkofer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on hoe, up you get!

Well Alkofer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
