The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Japan shows good takedown defense.
Silva lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Japan at a distance.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Japan.
Silva is looking for a sweep.
Japan is chipping away with strikes.
A lull in the action here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Japan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Japan has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Silva!

Japan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Japan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
