Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Makin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spikely Deeneero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makin comes into the arena with Shinedown - Simple Man blaring out of the sound system. Erik Makin has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Deeneero looking for a guillotine here but Makin defends easily.
Makin looking to pass the guard.
Makin postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Makin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Makin stopping the sweep attempt from Deeneero.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Makin looking to pass the guard.
Makin preventing the sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Deeneero tries for a takedown but Makin circles away easily
so Makin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Makin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Deeneero has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Deeneero manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Deeneero trying to control but Makin is having none of it.
Deeneero looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Deeneero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Makin is looking to escape.
Makin is working to get back to half guard.
Makin is working hard here to advance position.

Deeneero wants to take Makin's back but he can't do it this time.
Makin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Makin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Deeneero looking to hit a scissor sweep but Makin is one step ahead there.
Makin drops back looking for a leg! Deeneero is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deeneero manages to kick Makin off! Makin jumps back into Deeneero's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Makin won't allow Deeneero to sweep him here.
Deeneero looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Deeneero working for a triangle but Makin defends it easily.
Deeneero tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Deeneero bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Makin's guard.
Makin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Erik Makin dominated that round.
That's time! Makin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
No joy there for Deeneero, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Deeneero shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Makin can't escape the position.
Deeneero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Makin is looking to escape.
Deeneero looking for a guillotine from mount but Makin is having none of it.
Makin is trying desperately to improve position.
Deeneero has hold of Makin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Makin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Deeneero has control of Makin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Makin regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Makin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Makin tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Deeneero has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Deeneero jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Makin manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Makin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Makin wants to improve his position but Deeneero is controlling well.
Deeneero is looking to advance position but Makin won't allow it.
Makin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Deeneero pulls his head out easily.
Deeneero is keen to just control but Makin is a slippery customer.
Makin manages to get to full guard.
Makin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Deeneero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Makin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Deeneero passes into half guard.

Makin is not content to let Deeneero control the position.
Deeneero moves into full mount! Makin won't be happy about that!
Deeneero trying to control but Makin is having none of it.
Makin is trying desperately to improve position.
Makin has given up his back.
Makin is in bad spot here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Deeneero sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Makin taps out!
