Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stanislav Klaus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Scream - Avenged Sevenfold as his entrance music. John Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stanislav Klaus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Klaus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Klaus is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Johnson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Klaus is controlling Johnson's posture.
Klaus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson is standing up over Klaus. Klaus looks to escape but Johnson dives into side control.
Klaus throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Klaus wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

You can see the frustration on Klaus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Klaus tries to escape but Johnson is in control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Klaus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Klaus tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily

and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Klaus is looking to sweep but instead, Johnson has passed into half guard.
Klaus is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Klaus avoid being mounted?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Klaus looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Johnson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Klaus.
Johnson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Klaus.
Klaus throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Klaus throws a left and a right that both miss

and Johnson counters with a single leg into guard. Klaus didn't expect that.

Klaus is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Klaus has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Johnson has passed into side control.
Johnson has control of an arm but Klaus manages to advance to Johnson's back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Johnson defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Klaus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Klaus misses with an uppercut.
Klaus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Johnson won't allow Klaus to get back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klaus wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
Klaus has control of Johnson's left arm, preventing Johnson from doing any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Klaus controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
Klaus is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Johnson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Klaus sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stanislav Klaus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Klaus moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Klaus misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Klaus!
Klaus can't escape the position.

Klaus is working hard here to advance position.
Klaus gets back to half guard.
Stanislav Klaus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
John Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Klaus wants to get back to his feet.

John Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
