Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Gobbler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Wigfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Gobbler looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, James Gobbler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Wigfield!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gobbler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wigfield.
Wigfield looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Wigfield shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
No luck for Gobbler with that takedown attempt.

Wigfield closes the distance and clinches.
Wigfield drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
James Gobbler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamie Wigfield.
Wigfield prevents a takedown attempt there.
Gobbler wants a takedown.
Wigfield can't break the clinch.
Wigfield has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gobbler avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Wigfield is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gobbler is aware though and is defending well.
Gobbler wants to control from the top but Wigfield keeps moving.
Wigfield is trying to keep Gobbler in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gobbler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wigfield but Wigfield pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gobbler dives in and grabs Wigfield's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wigfield pushes down on Gobbler's head and hops out.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Wigfield - that will leave a mark!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gobbler wants a takedown.
Gobbler drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wigfield pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gobbler showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wigfield.
Gobbler shoots in but Wigfield avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wigfield closes the distance and pushes Gobbler back into the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wigfield tries for a takedown but Gobbler manages to get underhooks.
Wigfield is trying to drag Gobbler to the mat but Gobbler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Gobbler ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gobbler no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jamie Wigfield will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Horrible takedown by Gobbler or perhaps it was just good defense by Wigfield which made him look bad.

Gobbler fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wigfield sprawls well initially but Gobbler persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Gobbler seems content to control.
Gobbler is looking to take a break and control but Wigfield is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gobbler wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wigfield desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Gobbler is trying to control the action in half guard but Wigfield is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Gobbler is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wigfield has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gobbler is looking to take a break and control but Wigfield is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wigfield is looking for a sweep. Gobbler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gobbler shoots in looking for a takedown. Wigfield tries to sprawl out of it but Gobbler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wigfield manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gobbler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gobbler is defended easily by Wigfield.

Wigfield has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wigfield tries to circle away but Gobbler has him pinned against the cage.
Wigfield misses with a body punch.
Gobbler is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wigfield gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Gobbler jumps guard and drags Wigfield to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wigfield gets to his feet - Gobbler follows without any prompting.
James Gobbler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gobbler tries to clinch up but Wigfield circles away and keeps his distance.

Wigfield fails to pull the fight into his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wigfield is on top in guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Gobbler will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Wigfield thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gobbler's head.

Gobbler is staying active underneath Wigfield, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gobbler is trying to maintain the position but Wigfield is very close to passing his half guard.

Gobbler tries for a takedown but Wigfield sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wigfield lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Gobbler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wigfield wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

I think Wigfield has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
