Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Filitov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filitov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Diaz as he jumps to the side.

Diaz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Diaz showed some decent athleticism there.

Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Filitov is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold.
Filitov wants to control but Diaz is keeping busy.

Diaz is working for a kimura but Filitov is defending it quite comfortably.

Diaz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Filitov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Diaz, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Filitov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Diaz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Filitov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Diaz is proving hard to escape from.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Filitov wants to stand up but Diaz is controlling him.

Filitov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Diaz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Filitov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Diaz has Filitov in his guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Filitov doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Diaz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Filitov's guard.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Filitov throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Diaz has gone for a leg lock! Filitov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Diaz's guard.

Filitov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Diaz wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Filitov as he jumps to the side.

Diaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Filitov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Filitov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Filitov!
Filitov wants to stand but Diaz has his arm trapped.

Filitov stands up and beckons Diaz to his feet.

Filitov attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Diaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Filitov's guard.

Diaz has an Americana. Filitov didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Diaz is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Diaz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
