Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mr Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Veloso II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guy's entrance music is Mother. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Veloso II did well to prevent Guy getting side control.
Guy trying to control the action but Veloso II is working from the bottom.
Veloso II tries to get to full guard but Guy has control of the leg.
Guy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ground and pound from Guy.
Guy wants to take a breather but Veloso II is having none of it.
Veloso II makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Veloso II.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guy tries to free his leg and advance position but Veloso II is retaining full guard.
Veloso II looking to hit a scissor sweep but Guy is one step ahead there.
Veloso II bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Guy's guard.

Veloso II sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Guy's guard.
Guy is trying to get back to full guard.
Guy is holding on to half guard well.
Veloso II wants to pass to mount but Guy is defending the position.
Guy is trying to control but can't.
Guy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Veloso II looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Veloso II is looking to advance position but Guy won't allow it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Veloso II is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Veloso II misses with a takedown
and Guy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Guy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Veloso II has his takedown stuffed
and Guy counters with a one-two to the body.

and Guy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mr Guy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Douglas Veloso II.

Guy has an Americana. Veloso II didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Guy is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Guy hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
