Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aadyn Gibbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ringond Silver!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gibbs gets a clinch.
Gibbs lands a knee to the body.
Silver should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Gibbs just leaning against Silver, taking a breather.

Gibbs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Aadyn Gibbs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silver swats away the attempt to clinch by Gibbs.

Well, if Gibbs is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gibbs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silver on the ground.

Gibbs throws a strike but Silver rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gibbs holds on and takes a little breather.
Silver tries to stand but Gibbs is controlling from the bottom.

Silver drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silver jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silver accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silver avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gibbs goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Silver gets the takedown into side control.
Gibbs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gibbs tries to get out of the position.
Silver looks gassed!

Silver is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gibbs has escaped the position, nice work there.
What's Gibbs going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Gibbs tries to buck Silver off but Silver is having none of it.

Silver is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gibbs will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gibbs is trying to control Silver's posture but Silver avoids it.
Gibbs is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gibbs is trying to trip Silver. He has hold of a leg but Silver is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gibbs persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Gibbs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silver, pushing him back against the cage.

Gibbs tries to clinch there but Silver circles away.

Gibbs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silver manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gibbs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Silver gets caught flat footed, as Gibbs shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
