Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cj Bower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is If. Shinya Aoki has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Bower looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bower has a takedown stuffed.
Bower fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bower throws a leg kick that misses.
Aoki drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bower tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Aoki wants to control from the top but Bower keeps moving.
Aoki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bower is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bower has escaped and now he's on top!

Bower shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Aoki is trying to defend but Bower finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bower wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Aoki uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Bower postures up in Aoki's guard and throws a big left but Aoki blocks it.
Aoki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bower defends it easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Aoki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bower defends it nicely.
Bower is looking to clinch but Aoki is avoiding it.
Bower lands a nice leg kick that just misses Aoki's sensitive parts.
Aoki tries to clinch up but Bower circles away and keeps his distance.

Aoki goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bower rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Aoki's guard! Nice work there by Bower!
Aoki controls Bower momentarily but Bower frees himself.

Cj Bower seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bower closes the distance and clinches.
Bower tries to land knees in the clinch but Aoki avoids the damage to the body.
Bower breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Aoki counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bower looking for a sweep. Not yet Bower, not yet.
Bower is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Aoki looking to pass the guard.

Aoki throws and elbow that misses. Bower uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Aoki's guard. Nice move by Bower!

Aoki has a closed guard, preventing Bower from standing up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Aoki throws a sloppy head kick and Bower moves out of range easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shinya Aoki will probably get the nod.

Aoki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bower's guard.
