Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aang Havatar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Submission Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aang Havatar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Submission Machine!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havatar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Machine moves away.

Machine scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Havatar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Machine wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Machine working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Havatar is looking for a sweep.

Machine goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Havatar has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Machine but great work by Havatar.
Machine takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Havatar creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Machine is not content to let Havatar control the position.
Havatar lands a decent elbow from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machine gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Havatar wants to work for an arm triangle but Machine is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machine is squirming around, avoiding Havatar's attempts to control the action.

Machine is trying to escape the mount.
Havatar has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Machine's face.
Machine is desperately trying to improve his position but Havatar has a good base and remains in mount.
Machine sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Machine manages to work his way to half guard, despite Havatar's best efforts.
Havatar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Machine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Havatar pulls his head out easily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Havatar connects with a nice short shot to Machine's temple.

Machine won't allow Havatar to pass to mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Machine is trying to maintain the position but Havatar is very close to passing his half guard.
Machine tries to get to full guard but Havatar has control of the leg.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Machine tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Havatar swivels and escapes.
Havatar moves in looking to clinch but Machine pushes him off.
A combination from Havatar does no damage.
Havatar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Machine.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Machine shoots in looking for a takedown. Havatar tries to sprawl out of it but Machine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Havatar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Machine fails with a takedown attempt.
Aang Havatar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Submission Machine.
Machine keeps the fight on the outside.
Machine shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Havatar sprawls well. Havatar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Machine gets slowly back to his feet.

Havatar scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Havatar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Machine sprawls well initially but Havatar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Havatar is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Machine to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Machine shrugs it off.
Machine keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Havatar has control of Machine's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Machine regains control of the situation pretty easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Havatar misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Havatar is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Machine has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Havatar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Machine looks a forlorn figure.
Machine tries to reverse the position but Havatar maintains control.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Havatar moves in looking to clinch but Machine pushes him off.

Machine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Havatar's guard.
Machine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Havatar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Machine sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Havatar doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Machine paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Havatar - great work!
