Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Michael Heandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braulio Tomaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heandler comes to the cage accompanied by Theme . The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomaz thumps Heandler with a low kick.
Tomaz throws a series of punches but Heandler avoids them all with ease.
Heandler on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tomaz. Tomaz obviously looking to wear him down.
Tomaz feints and as Heandler raises his hands in defense, Tomaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Heandler trying to keep a closed guard but Tomaz is proving a slippery customer.

Tomaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tomaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Tomaz counters with a leg kick.
Tomaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tomaz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Heandler. That did some damage!

Tomaz feints and then cracks Heandler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Heandler down.

Tomaz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Heandler's half guard.
Heandler wants to control but Tomaz is keeping busy.
Heandler is breathing heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heandler is not content to let Tomaz control the position.
Tomaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heandler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tomaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Heandler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tomaz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Heandler doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tomaz.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tomaz.
Heandler swats away the attempt to clinch by Tomaz.
Tomaz throws a leg kick which misses Heandler's front leg but catches the back leg as Heandler tries to avoid it.
Tomaz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Tomaz feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Heandler's calf.
Tomaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Heandler's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Braulio Tomaz dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tomaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Tomaz has hold of Heandler's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Heandler seems comfortable defending it but Tomaz has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Heandler is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Heandler is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Tomaz couldn't care less - he's delighted!
