Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anders Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Angel. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anders Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Blake Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson throws a hook but Anderson blocks it.
Anderson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Anderson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Stevenson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Anderson!
Anderson is squirming around, avoiding Stevenson's attempts to control the action.

Stevenson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

and Anderson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stevenson's guard now.

Stevenson seems to be working for a kimura but Anderson defends the submission attempt.

Stevenson is looking for a kimura but Anderson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stevenson to get the leverage.

Anderson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stevenson is working away from the top position though.

Stevenson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Anderson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stevenson on the ground.
Anderson is doing well to control the position and prevent Stevenson from advancing to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Anderson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Anderson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Anderson has closed the distance and engaged Stevenson in a clinch.
Anderson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stevenson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anders Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stevenson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anderson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Anderson counters with a single leg into guard. Stevenson didn't expect that.

Anderson passes Stevenson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Stevenson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Anderson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Anderson's back!

Anderson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Anderson is trying to get an arm triangle but Stevenson is defending well.
Stevenson wants to control but Anderson postures up.
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevenson keeps working.
Stevenson parries the strikes from Anderson easily there. Anderson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stevenson to escape.
Anders Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stevenson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Anderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Anderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Anderson is working for a kimura but Stevenson is defending it quite comfortably.
Anderson wants to take a breather but Stevenson is having none of it.

Anderson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Anderson connects with a nice short shot to Stevenson's temple.

Stevenson tries to keep at a distance but Anderson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Blake Stevenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well Anderson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
