Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guillermo Penderas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guillermo Penderas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Ryder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guillermo Penderas!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryder gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Penderas.
Ryder closes this distance looking for a takedown but Penderas circles away.
Penderas throws a good cross that connects.
Penderas dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Penderas throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Ryder scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Penderas gets full guard.
Penderas is trying to keep Ryder in close.
Ryder wants to control from the top but Penderas keeps moving.
Penderas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Penderas wants to get back to his feet but Ryder is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Penderas wants to sweep here but Ryder controlling him for the moment.

Penderas wants to stand and escape but Ryder is having none of it.
Ryder throws and elbow that misses. Penderas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ryder's guard. Nice move by Penderas!
Penderas is looking to advance position but Ryder has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Penderas is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ryder throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Penderas has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Ryder's lack of action.
Penderas is trying to maintain the position but Ryder is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penderas avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ryder.
Ryder not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ryder thows a huge punch but Penderas dodges it nicely.

Ryder is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Penderas trying to control from the bottom.
Ryder missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Ryder is just content to waste time from the top position. Penderas takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Ryder throwing strikes from guard but Penderas blocks nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ryder is looking to work some ground and pound but Penderas has wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Penderas scores with the left hand. Ryder knows he should have avoided that one.
Penderas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Penderas lands a nice looking body shot.

Ryder shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Penderas manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ryder throws a strike but Penderas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penderas looking to sit in guard and control but Ryder gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jacob Ryder will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ryder shoots in but Penderas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Guillermo Penderas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ryder takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The fighters circle momentarily. Penderas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Penderas dips to his left and cracks Ryder with an uppercut!
Ryder tries to score a power double leg takedown but Penderas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ryder somewhat.
A jab from Penderas does it's job there.
Penderas lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Ryder takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ryder walks into a straight right hand from Penderas.
Ryder fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacob Ryder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Penderas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Ryder shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Penderas is on top in guard.

Penderas wants to control from the top but Ryder keeps moving.

Penderas stands up from Ryder's guard - Penderas perhaps looking for a knockout.

Penderas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ryder walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Penderas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Penderas misses with a straight left.
Penderas connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ryder.
Ryder tries for a takedown but Penderas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Penderas fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Penderas might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Penderas scores with a nice strike.
Penderas connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ryder. Ryder circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ryder shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ryder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Penderas is fending him off so far but Ryder persists. Nope, Penderas circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ryder fails to land the takedown.
Penderas lands a nice hook to Ryder's body. Ryder takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Penderas moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Penderas lands with an uppercut that bounces Ryder off the cage and back into rage.
Penderas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ryder.
Ryder with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Penderas to score with a decent uppercut.

Penderas slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Ryder shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Penderas defends it nicely.

Penderas connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ryder momentarily.
Penderas cracks Ryder with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Penderas scores with a jab to the jaw.
Ryder drops his hands momentarily and Penderas takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


Ryder is rocked!
Penderas Rushes Ryder and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Ryder is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Penderas Piles on the pressure and Ryder crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
