The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valuev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Punch tries to clinch but Valuev is having none of it.
A punch combination from Punch misses.
Valuev throws a body punch but Punch moves out of range.
Valuev looks gassed!

Punch has managed to clinch.
Punch is trying to maintain a safe position but Valuev gets an underhook and turns Punch into the ropes.
Valuev tries to circle away but Punch has him pinned against the ropes.
Punch displaying some good clinch control by pressing Valuev up against the ropes.
Valuev has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Valuev prevents Punch from breaking the clinch.
Valuev is trying to break free.
Valuev takes a knee right on the jaw!

It looks like Jelfy Valuev has been cut.
Punch trying to control the position but instead, Valuev has worked for underhooks and has pushed Punch into the ropes.
Valuev tries to circle away but Punch has him pinned against the ropes.
Punch is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Punch lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Valuev backwards.

Valuev is rocked!
Valuev tries to break the clinch but Punch is controlling the position.
Valuev is still on wobbly legs! Can Punch finish him?
Punch wants to break free but Valuev has control.

Punch manages to break the clinch.
Punch wants to clinch up but Valuev keeps it at a distance.
Valuev misses with the combination.
Punch tries to close the distance and clinch but Valuev swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Punch dances in with a quick combination. Valuev is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Punch snaps Valuev's head back. Valuev stumbles backwards against the ropes. Punch steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Valuev's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Valuev just didn't come prepared.
