Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Blew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Read (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Read has chosen Killing in the name of as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Raymond Blew has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raymond Blew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Read!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blew takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Blew connects with a jab.
Read shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Read steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Blew.
Read keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Read takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Read cracks Blew with a right hand to the side of the head.
Raymond Blew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Read moves into the clinch.

Blew pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Read ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blew moves away.
Read is looking to clinch but Blew is avoiding it.
Blew takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Read slips a jab and a cross from Blew.
Read is looking to clinch.

Read shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Read was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Blew sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blew is trying to get back to full guard.
Read throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blew has hold of Read's hands but Read slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Blew is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Read jumps into side control!
Read cracks Blew with a big right hand but Blew just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Read trying to control the position but Blew is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blew tries to bench press Read off him but Read keeps the position.
Blew on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blew tries to get out of the position.
Read working the head with strikes.
Blew manages to get back to half guard.
Read sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Blew defending well though.
Read looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Read missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blew is not content to let Read control the position.
Read missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Blew is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Read pulls his head out easily.
Read throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Read thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Blew is trying to maintain the position but Read is very close to passing his half guard.
Blew works his way to full guard. Good work.
Read throws a strike but Blew rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Read is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Read trying to keep a closed guard but Blew is proving a slippery customer.

Blew is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Blew postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Read looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Read working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Blew.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Read bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blew's guard.
Read lands a couple of elbows.
Read forces his way into half guard.
Blew trying to control here.
Read scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Read passes to side control.
Blew wants to control but Read postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blew is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Read dominated that round.
That's time! Blew's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Blew needs to keep his hands up - Read had a free shot at his head there.
Blew takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Read lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Blew at a distance.
A jab lands there for Read.
Read is looking to clinch but Blew is avoiding it.
Read fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Blew looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Read feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Read postures up and lands a big shot to Blew's brow.
Read keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Blew's head.
Read lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Read trying to control but Blew is working from the bottom.
Read advances position into side control!
Blew is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blew takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Read working the head and body with strikes.
Read lands a few punches from side control.
Read lands a nice forearm strike.
Read working the ground and pound.
Read working the ground and pound.
Read lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Blew down.


Blew is rocked!
A big shot lands for Read! That's hurt Blew! Will he recover? Read fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Read!
