The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McRoberts throws a series of punches but Emelianenko moves out of range.
McRoberts throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Emelianenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McRoberts.

Emelianenko is looking to stand up but McRoberts isn't so interested in that idea.
McRoberts is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

McRoberts has gone for a leg lock! Emelianenko slips out almost immediately though and dives into McRoberts's guard.

Emelianenko got a little sloppy there for a moment and McRoberts has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Emelianenko has managed to get both his arms back between McRoberts's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McRoberts tries to get to full guard but Emelianenko has control of the leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Emelianenko connects with a nice short shot to McRoberts's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Emelianenko is sitting in close to McRoberts's body. McRoberts has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Emelianenko is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Emelianenko is tapping! That was a very nice submission by McRoberts.
