The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross throws a shot from downtown. Markov moves away and avoids it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ross.
Ross tries to close the distance and clinch up but Markov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ross closes the distance and clinches up with Markov, looking for a takedown. Ross pushes Markov against the cage but Markov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ross takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Markov cracks Ross with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ross tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Markov pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ross is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
