PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Tavaras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jim Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon Tavaras!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tavaras slips a jab from Jim.
Tavaras has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jim finds it's way round the side to connect with Tavaras's head.

Tavaras is looking for a kimura but Jim is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tavaras to get the leverage.
Jim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tavaras on the ground.

Jim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tavaras is working away from the top position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Tavaras has gone for a leg lock! Jim slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tavaras's guard.

Jim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tavaras swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Tavaras shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jim pinned against the cage. Jim gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Jim throws a right hand that Tavaras ducks under and follows up with a left that Tavaras also avoids with ease.

Tavaras drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jim manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tavaras has Jim in his guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Tavaras has gone for a leg lock! Jim slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tavaras's guard.

Jim is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jon Tavaras.
I think Tavaras has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
