PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Bonds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonds comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Live And Let Die kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bonds has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Bonds!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harrison changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bonds looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Harrison tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Harrison has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Harrison tries to move to mount but Bonds blocks the move with his legs.

Harrison wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bonds, who protects the arm well.
Harrison tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Bonds regains half guard there - taking advantage of Harrison's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Bonds is refusing to be controlled, as Harrison sits in half guard.
Harrison content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bonds wants to get back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bonds wants to control but Harrison passes into side.

Harrison goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bonds has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Harrison but great work by Bonds.

Bonds decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Bonds slaps away a takedown attempt from Harrison, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bonds moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Bonds leaves Harrison with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Good leg kick by Bonds there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Harrison is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
