The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee takes a swing at Penn's ribcage but misses.
Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Penn was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee.
Mister Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Penn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Penn.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lee can do anything to dispel that myth.

Penn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
