Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Rua will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Genghis Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Rua!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rua.
Khan checks the leg kick.
Khan misses with a body shot.
Khan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rua's waist but Rua gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Khan off to one side.
Rua has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rua there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rua jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rua throws out a loose jab but Khan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Khan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rua misses with an uppercut.
Nice defenses there by Rua.
Khan tries for a takedown but Rua sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Khan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rua.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Khan misses with a straight left.
Khan throws a hook but Rua avoids it easily.
Rua moves away from the strike by Khan.
Rua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Khan lands with a straight right. Rua didn't see that one coming.
Khan getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Rua is looking to clinch but Khan is avoiding it.
Rua misses with a looping left.
Khan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Genghis Khan has been cut.
Khan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Khan throws a lazy right hand but Rua sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Khan lands a nice shot to the body.
Rua looks to land a left hand but Khan moved out of range nicely.
Khan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rua manages to avoid it.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Khan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Khan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Khan drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rua working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Khan.
Khan postures up in Rua's guard and throws a big left but Rua blocks it.
Khan with a flurry of punches that miss.

Khan wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.
Khan thows a big elbow that misses.
Khan looking to sit in guard and control but Rua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Khan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rua gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rua keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Khan.
Khan misses with a body shot.

Khan misses with a few strikes there.
Rua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Khan.
Khan fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Genghis Khan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khan throws a left and a right that both miss

and Rua counters with a head kick that drops Khan to the mat! Khan scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Khan is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Khan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Khan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rua stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

enabling Rua to counter with a crisp jab.
Rua wants to clinch.
Rua is looking to clinch but Khan is avoiding it.
Rua has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rua there as he acknowledges the shot.

Rua takes one to the side of the head.

Khan lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Khan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Khan lands with a good body shot.
Khan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Rua counters by moving into the clinch.
Rua lands a knee to the body.
Rua displaying some good clinch control by pressing Khan up against the cage.
Rua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Khan blocks it with crossed arms.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Khan misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Rua lands a nice elbow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Khan takes an elbow to the temple.
Rua lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Khan misses with a hook to the ribs.
Khan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rua avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Khan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rua prevents it.
Khan lands a body punch in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
