The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schulz cracks Mykolaiv with a right hand to the side of the head.
Schulz looks to land a right hand but Mykolaiv moved out of range.

Schulz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Schulz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mykolaiv is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Schulz pulls his head out easily.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Schulz connects with a nice short shot to Mykolaiv's temple.
Schulz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mykolaiv with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Schulz in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mykolaiv takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schulz is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mykolaiv can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Schulz ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Mykolaiv's jaw. Mykolaiv's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Schulz does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
