Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and West Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Tucker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Tucker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, West Rivera!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tucker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rivera is trying to defend but Tucker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Rivera regains full guard. Nicely done.
Rivera is trying to keep Tucker in close.
Tucker trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rivera's guard.
Rivera striking off his back, scoring a few points.
Rivera wants to sweep here but Tucker controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tucker with a flurry of punches that miss.
Tucker distracts Rivera with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Tucker makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Tucker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tucker wants to stand but Rivera has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Tucker postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rivera is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tucker, into his guard.
Rivera wants to control from the top but Tucker keeps moving.
Tucker is looking to sweep but instead, Rivera has passed into half guard.
Tucker wants to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Tucker pushes Rivera off and gets back to his feet.
Rivera fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Tucker is out of range.
Rivera is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Tucker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rivera looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tucker wants to control but Rivera is keeping him busy.

Rivera is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tucker off and has taken his back!
Rivera lands strikes to the head.
Rivera trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Rivera looking to break Tucker's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Tucker remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rivera will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Even with his hooks in, Rivera manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Will Rivera go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Tucker is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rivera keeps the fight on the outside.

Tucker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tucker scores with a couple of short elbows.
Tucker tries to score with some ground and pound. Rivera controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Tucker swings around for an armbar but Rivera sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Tucker's guard.

Rivera thows a big elbow that misses.

Tucker has momentary wrist control but Rivera slips an elbow through the middle.

Tucker wants to stand but Rivera is controlling the position.
Rivera working some strikes from top position.
Tucker has a closed guard, preventing Rivera from standing up.

Tucker pushes Rivera off and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tucker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Tucker.
Rivera manages to get back to half guard.
Rivera on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Tucker is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Rivera moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tucker throwing strikes from guard but Rivera blocks nicely.
Tucker working some strikes from top position.
Tucker throws and elbow that misses. Rivera uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tucker's guard. Nice move by Rivera!
Rivera trying to control the position from guard on top but Tucker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tucker trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rivera scoring with some ground and pound.
Rivera wants to get up but he can't break Tucker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tucker pushes Rivera off and scrambles back to his feet.
Rivera with a poor takedown

and Tucker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rivera!
Tucker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Tucker unloading with bombs!
Rivera regains half guard.
Rivera flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Tucker perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Tucker dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Tucker trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rivera sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Tucker throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Tucker tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rivera.
Tucker slips a nice elbow through Rivera's hands, connecting with Rivera's forehead.

Tucker decides to return to a standing position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tucker checks a leg kick.
Rivera shoots and misses

and Tucker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tucker.

Tucker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Rivera.
Tucker fails to pull guard.
Rivera stops a takedown attempt from Tucker.

Rivera pulls guard.
Rivera is trying to control the position but Tucker postures up.
Thomas Tucker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tucker is looking to stand up but Rivera won't let him.
Rivera manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rivera sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rivera's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Tucker is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tucker wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Can Tucker hold on?! Rivera is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Tucker has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Rivera has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Tucker! Can he survive? No! He's out! Rivera gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). West Rivera!
