Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yusaka Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yusaka Li!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Li swivels and escapes.
Austin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Austin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Li uses from the top position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Austin holds on and takes a little breather.

Li drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Austin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Li has Austin in his guard.

Austin seems keen to control Li's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Austin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Li.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Li wants to lay and pray for a moment but Austin keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Li displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Austin.

Austin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Li is just riding it out for now. Austin eventually gives up the hold.

Austin is looking for submissions but instead, Li has regained full guard.
Austin is breathing heavily.

Austin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Li is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Austin, into his guard.

A close round but Yusaka Li will probably get the nod.
That's time! Austin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Li wants to clinch up but Austin keeps it at a distance.
Austin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Li throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Austin.

Austin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Austin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Li has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Austin is working away from the top position though.
Li slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Austin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Li wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Austin, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Austin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Li sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Austin is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

and Li counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Li looking to sit in guard and control but Austin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Li has his hands on Austin's head, controlling the position.

Austin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Li dives on top into guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Li stays in close to Austin's body and controls the position.
Li slips nicely into half guard.
Li is trying to control the action in half guard but Austin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Austin is concentrating on defense, preventing Li from advancing position.
Li is keen to just control but Austin is a slippery customer.
Li tries to pass the half guard into mount. Austin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Austin is looking to control Li's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Austin avoid being mounted?

Yusaka Li showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Austin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Li is now in Austin's guard. A big mistake from Austin there, giving up the dominant position!

Li has gone for a leg lock! Austin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Li's guard.
Austin is looking to advance position but Li has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Li stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Shane Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Li counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Li throws a right hand that Austin ducks under and follows up with a left that Austin also avoids with ease.

and Li counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Li.

Li has Austin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Li pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Austin tumbling to the mat - Li dives into Austin's guard.
Austin pulls Li in close to prevent any damage.

Austin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Austin tries to get out of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Li feints and as Austin raises his hands in defense, Li changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Austin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Austin is concentrating on defense, preventing Li from advancing position.
Li is pressing down on Austin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Austin is holding on for now.
Li keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Li seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Austin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shane Austin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Yusaka Li is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Yusaka Li comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Li has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
